Aurora

Aurora Aksnes, born June 15 1996 in Stavanger and is professionally known as Aurora or, sometimes, stylized in the form of AURORA is an Norwegian musician and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, released in May 2015 by Decca Records to great approval from music journalists and media. Half the World Away from the band Oasis was recorded for an ad campaign for John Lewis, and Nature Boy is a Nat King Cole cover. Katy Perry, who endorsed the track Runaway from her side, has given her the track a little more attention. It was her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music is finding a grand piano in the attic. The piano was fascinating to her what it could do. The parents of her May-Britt family and Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as a profession or a pastime, but for growth. To achieve this, she began writing original compositions. Bjork and Leonard Cohen are among her most favored writers. To counter her mother's advice that she should not be aiming at achieving fame through the songs she writes, but rather realize the importance of themselves as well as their contribution to society. At age 6 she started playing the piano and at nine was writing music. The family did not have any idea until she was 14. Aurora's success was never her goal. Aurora says she loves creating music. She believes music can make any person feel better.
